ClarkLindsey’s Ethel & Maud’s program received the Community Impact Award from LeadingAge Illinois for its outreach to adults 55+ across Champaign County. The program has welcomed nearly 400 participants and served over 1,000 meals since launching in 2015. Community Relations Coordinator Laura Beyer was also honored for her leadership and innovation.

A women’s storytelling event, “That’s What She Said,” returns to the Krannert Center on July 19, featuring personal narratives, music, and comedy from local participants and guest performers. A group from ClarkLindsey will attend to honor Dr. Lilian Katz. The program highlights authentic stories from women across the community and includes an optional post‑show gathering.

Virginia Lovingfoss, a longtime volunteer in Urbana, is preparing to celebrate her 100th birthday this August. She has spent 27 years helping at a local hospital and the Urbana Free Library and remains active, social, and independent. Her story highlights how community involvement and staying connected can support well‑being at any age.

Tom Ewing, a 100‑year‑old ClarkLindsey resident and former DePauw football player, continues his yearly tradition of watching the Super Bowl from his apartment. Drawing on his playing days, he predicts a Denver win and still follows the sport with humor and enthusiasm. A lifelong Bears fan, he’s confident they’ll return to the championship someday—perhaps when he’s 105.

Karen Blatzer has joined ClarkLindsey as marketing supervisor, bringing a decade of experience leading marketing and public relations in health care and finance, along with a background as a television anchor and reporter. Her expertise in communication and storytelling will support ClarkLindsey’s outreach and community engagement efforts.

Meadows Edge, a new villa neighborhood at ClarkLindsey in Urbana, has begun construction. The project will include 16 maintenance‑free homes in three floor plans, designed for adults 62+. About half of the villas are already reserved. Built by Atkins Construction and planned for completion in September, the development expands housing options while offering residents priority access to ClarkLindsey’s services and amenities.

ClarkLindsey has welcomed Jen Ryan as its new executive chef, bringing experience from restaurants, corporate dining, and casino hospitality in St. Louis. Trained in both American and European culinary traditions, she plans to strengthen farm‑to‑table dining for residents in Urbana. Her arrival supports ClarkLindsey’s continued focus on fresh, thoughtful, community‑centered food experiences.

ClarkLindsey residents took part in a hands‑on iPad workshop led by Busey’s technology team, helping participants with varying experience levels learn practical skills like email, Wi‑Fi, apps, and screenshots. The session supported residents who use tablets to stay connected, manage daily tasks, or explore new interests, offering personalized guidance in a relaxed, community‑focused setting.
